Little Free Pantry

Food is one of the most basic human needs, yet too many of our neighbors struggle with food insecurity.

At Community of Christ Anaheim, we believe no family should have to wonder where their next meal will come from. That’s why we host a Little Free Pantry just outside our gate. While humble, it’s a simple but powerful way to share with one another and ensure that everyone has access to essential food and household items.

How the Pantry Works

The Little Free Pantry is open to everyone. It’s available 24/7, no questions asked. Those who need a little extra support are welcome to take what will help them—whether that’s a few canned goods, a box of cereal, or hygiene products. Likewise, anyone who feels moved to give can stock the pantry with nonperishable food, toiletries, or household items.

This “neighbors helping neighbors” model recognizes that need can be both ongoing and unexpected. By keeping the pantry full, we help one another get through the week with dignity and hope.

Living Out Our Enduring Principles

The Little Free Pantry embodies many of Community of Christ’s Enduring Principles.

Worth of All Persons

We believe every person is of inestimable value to God. The pantry offers practical care that affirms that worth.

Blessings of Community

Sharing resources with one another builds bonds of trust and compassion in our neighborhood.

Continuing Revelation

We believe God is still speaking, and sometimes those glimpses of divine truth come through the stories we share, the ideas we encounter, and the wisdom we pass along.

Grace and Generosity

We are called to give freely of what we have, creating abundance where there may have been scarcity.

Pursuit of Peace

Access to food and basic necessities is foundational for peace and justice in our community.

Advancing Our Mission Initiatives

Through the Little Free Pantry, we take action on our Mission Initiatives.

Abolish Poverty, End Suffering

By addressing food insecurity, we help break cycles of hunger and hardship.

Invite People to Christ

Each act of giving and receiving opens the door to conversations, connections, and the experience of God’s love.

Develop Disciples to Serve

Volunteering with the pantry gives us the chance to practice discipleship in tangible ways, caring for our neighbors with compassion.
