There are a number of ways to talk about our sense of mission or calling. We like the way Brian McLaren* defines the church's mission: "to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ in authentic community for the good of the world." We believe that in following Jesus, we are to work for the good of others, both in our individual lives and in our life together as a faith community. We are also to help others come to know and choose to follow Jesus--not by pressure or coercion, but by invitation to "come and see." We welcome all who wish to work for the good of others to join with us in our missional work
We are still growing in our discipleship--our learning from and emulating of Jesus. You will find some links below to pages that describe our ongoing missional efforts. We welcome your participation in any of these efforts.
