Haiti Primary Schools Program Letter

from Outreach International to Anaheim, CA Community of Christ

Dear Friends,

Manius Arthur, a child in the central plateau of Haiti, is just one of the children who are able to go to school thanks to your partnership. In this area of serious drought, combined with political unrest and a depressed economy, life has been very hard for local families. Manius writes:

Dear Friends,

My name is Manius Arthur. I am very shy, but I make good grades in school. I am 11 years old—the third in my family of four kids. My parents have a hard time sending all of us to school.

Thanks to you, I am one of the children who got to go to school this year, in spite of the situation here in my country. All the children didn't have this luck. That's why I'm thanking you and hoping you continue to renew your help - so I don't have to stay at home next year.

I would like to become a good engineer. I am presently in elementary school and hope to go farther, achieve my studies, and someday go to college.

Thank you so much for helping Haiti. All of us from the central plains area would like to thank you very much. God bless you.

Manius Arthur

Basic education creates a future for children and their families, with the power to change lives, create economic self-sufficiency, improve health conditions and enhance social integration. Of all social investments, it is considered to have the highest rate of return. Your support to children like Manius ensures that they will be able to develop the skills and capabilities to become productive members of society. Thank you for your partnership in support of children and families in this poor island nation.
