Our
Faith CommunityWe are a community of faith who follow Jesus Christ. We have come together in community because we find that we become more like the people Jesus calls us to be when we share our individual faith journeys with other people. Jesus' own promise was that where two or three are gathered together in his name, he would be there with them. We know that to be true. We also know the joy of an extended family with whom we share the joys and struggles of day-to-day life. Our own faith is strengthened by the experiences and support of others. As we try to live out Jesus' teachings as a community, we find that his teachings change us and change the world around us, and that the dream of people living peaceably together becomes more real.
Our small faith community is part of a larger, world-wide faith community called the Community of Christ. It is an amazing experience to be greeted as a brother or sister by persons from other countries whom you have not previously known. Yet Jesus brings us together in the midst of a great diversity of languages, ethnic groups, and cultures. And Jesus sends us out to serve the world's peoples in all of their diverse needs and circumstances.
We affirm our kinship with all who seek God and seek to live peaceably with others. In the midst of our differing understandings of God, we find common ground in our desires to deepen our understandings of God and to make the world better for others and for ourselves. We affirm that we are all God's creations and are committed to treating all people with respect and dignity, and as our sisters and brothers.
